Article (13) Evaluation System

The faculty applies the credit hours system which depends on the basic unit for evaluation being the course rather the academic year. Thus the evaluation system is based on the grade in each course which is converted to its equivalent in points according to the following table:

Percentage

A+

4.00

85% - < 90%

A

3.70

80% - < 85%

B+

b- Grade point Average (GPA) Calculation:

The Grade point Average is calculated as follows:

1- For each course, the equivalent points of the grade (as shown in the table) are multiplied by the number of credit hours for that course to arrive at the points per course.

2-The points for all courses that the student has registered in will be totaled.

3-The GPA is calculated by dividing the total points by the total number of credit hours registered in by the student:

GPA= Total Points / Total Credit Hours Registered in

4- The general grade for the student can then be determined based on the GPA according to the following table:

GPA

General Grade

Less than 1.40

Very poor

1.40 - < 2.00

poor

2.00 - < 2.40

pass

2.40 - < 2.80

2.80 - < 3.40

3.40 and above

5- A student is granted Honors if s/he passes all academic Courses with a grade not less than very good and studying duration not exceeding four years
